Mustafa Ali receives life in prison without parole

Philadelphia:  A jury sentenced Mustafa Ali to life in prison without the possibility of parole late on Wednesday night.  39 year old Mustafa Ali was found guilty of two counts of 1st Degree Murder and related charges on February 17, 2010.  Ali was convicted of killing two armored car guards at a Northeast Philadelphia ATM in the course of a robbery on October 4, 2007.  The victims, 54 year old Joseph Alullo and 65 year old William Widmaier, were both retired Philadelphia Police Officers.  “ADA Michael Berry worked extremely hard on this case,” says District Attorney Seth Williams. “And he did an excellent job. The defendant avoided a sentence of death, but will be held accountable for his terrible crimes by spending the remainder of his life in prison. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Joseph Alulllo and William Widmaier, and we hope this will offer them some sense of justice and help them with the difficult process of closure.”
