Philadelphia, May 24, 2010– A jury convicted Vincent Tolentino of Burglary, Simple Assault and Terroristic Threatening for the 2008 assault on an elderly couple. On November 20, 2008, 73 year old Margaret Colosi answered a knock at her door on the 900 block of Cantrell Street. When she opened the door the defendant stormed into the house and assaulted Mrs. Colosi. The victim’s husband, 74 year old Samuel Colosi who required an oxygen tank to help him breathe, tried to defend his wife but was also attacked by the defendant. Vincent Tolentino is scheduled for sentencing on July 30, 2010 in courtroom 1002 at the CJC. Tolentino is facing a maximum of 30 years in prison because of two prior Robbery convictions.
“This was a horrible crime on a couple that should have been enjoying the twilight of their lives,” said District Attorney Seth Williams. “Instead they were attacked and terrorized in their own home. ADA Noel DeSantis did a great job on this case, and thanks to her hard work Vincent Tolentino will spend at least the next decade behind bars.”
