July 7, 2010– Commonwealth v. Rickie James: 25 year old Rickie James was sentenced to 17 to 34 years in prison today for Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, and other related offenses. James was convicted of shooting 32 year old Keith Gordon on May 13, 2010. Mr. Gordon was shot in 2009 just 17 days after the defendant got out of prison for a robbery conviction. The defendant shot the victim while he was sitting in a car at 23rd and Edgely Streets. Mr. Gordon’s two children were sitting in the backseat of the car at the time, fortunately they were not injured. While running from authorities after the shooting, James attempted to pull his gun on a police officer. The officer was able to draw first and the defendant was arrested. ADA Andrew Notaristefano successful prosecuted this case.
