July 16, 2010: Commonwealth v. Tyrell Bishop: 25 year old Tyrell Bishop was sentenced to 22 to 45 years in prison today. Bishop was convicted by a jury on April 30, 2010 for Murder and other related charges. Bishop is charged with shooting and killing Robert Coates on the 2100 block of S. 64th Street in 2004. Deputy DA Brian Grady successfully prosecuted this case.
July 8, 2010: Commonwealth v. Derrick Williams: 41 year old Derrick Williams was sentenced to 9 to 18 years in prison today for Aggravated Assault, Conspiracy and other related charges. Williams was convicted of opening fire on a barbershop in West Philly on Haverford Avenue in 2004. The barbershop’s owner along with a customer was inside and that the time, fortunately no on was injured. ADA Patricia Kelly Surrick successfully prosecuted this case.
