Philadelphia, PA – Often success starts with a first impression. That’s why the pros tell you to dress for the job you want, not the job you have. But putting the old cliché into practice is not always that simple. There are many people looking for employment right now, that don’t have the essentials they need to look their best for a job interview.
The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office is honoring the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday with a Day of Service Suit Drive for disadvantaged men and women of Philadelphia.
The suit drive runs January 10th through January 19th and benefits Dress for Success Philadelphia and Work-N-Style for Men program for the National Comprehensive Center for Fathers.
Both are non-profit organizations whose combined mission is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women and men by providing them with professional attire, to support the career-development tools to thrive in work and in life.
If you have extra business attire that no longer fits, or that you no longer wear, please consider donating those clothes to men and women who need help obtaining careers. Acceptable donations include: nearly new, interview-ready, women and men’s suits, skirts, pants, shoes and bags. All donations are tax-deductible.
