March 15, 2011: Commonwealth v. Arlen Reeves: 27 year old Arlen Reeves was sentenced to an additional 2 to 4 years in prison today to be served along with prison time he was already given last week. On March 7, 2011 Reeves was sentenced by Judge Michael Erdos to 5 to 15 years in State Prison for Identity Theft and other related charges. Reeves was found guilty of calling numerous Philadelphians and threatening them with arrest for failure to show up for Jury Duty. Many of these victims, who of course had not been called for Jury Duty, provided biographical information to Reeves in an attempt to clear up the confusion. Today, Reeves was sentenced to an additional 2 to 4 years as the Jury Duty scam violated his parole on a prior 2005 case of Identity Theft and Credit Card fraud when he victimized numerous senior citizens in a bank account takeover scheme. ADA Yvonne Ruiz successfully prosecuted this case.
