April 27, 2011: Commonwealth v. Paul Seeger: 43 year old Paul Seeger was convicted by a jury today of Terroristic Threats and Disorderly Conduct for a domestic disturbance in 2008. Seeger, who was an off duty police officer at the time, threatened to kill two other officers when they responded to a domestic dispute call at his house on September 19, 2008. The other two officers repeatedly tried to calm Seeger down during the incident, but Seeger continued to threaten both officers. At one point Seeger told them, “I hope you have your vest on because I’m going to shot you…” Seeger, a police sergeant in the 25th district at the time, was fired from the police department after the incident occurred. Seeger was sentenced to one year probation by Judge Minehart immediately after his conviction. ADA Meriah Russell successfully prosecuted this case.
