20 Year Old Charged with Intimidating Witness on Facebook


December 18, 2012:  The District Attorney’s Office and Attorney General’s Gun Violence Task Force arrested 20-year-old Freddie Henriquez of Kensington on Monday for threatening a witness in November.  Henriquez was charged with Witness Retaliation, Witness Intimidation, and Terroristic Threats.  Four of Henriquez’s associates were charged in February as part of a conspiracy to straw purchase numerous firearms in Philadelphia.  Henriquez obtained a witness’ statement and posted photos of it on Facebook with captions like “RATS.’  Elsewhere on his page, he also instructed readers to “KILL ALL RATS.”  He is being held on $250,000 bail, and his next court appearance is scheduled for January 2, 2013 in courtroom 406.

Henriquez’s friends who were arrested on straw purchase charges in February are 19-year-old Christian Maldonado, 23-year-old Jeffrey Maldonado, 19-year-old Qumere Jenkins, and 22-year-old Anthony Espinosa.  Christian Maldonado’s next court listing is December 21, 2012 in courtroom 1008.  Jeffrey Maldonado pleaded guilty in September and was sentenced to 11 to 23 months incarceration. Qumere Jenkins pleaded guilty in October and was sentenced to 9 to 23 months incarceration.  Anthony Espinosa’s next court listing is December 20, 2012 in courtroom 1002.  ADA Andrew Wellbrock is specially assigned to all of these cases.
