January 7, 2013: The District Attorney’s Office has charged 22–year-old Marcus Rolon with Possession With Intent to Distribute (PWID), Conspiracy, Knowing with Intent to Distribute (K&I) and Possession of an Instrument of a Crime (PIC) for a grow house that was found on the 1800 block of E. Sedgley Avenue. 39-year-old Carlos Rodriguez is also facing PWID, Conspiracy, K&I and PIC charges.
On Sunday, Police Officers in the East Division discovered the house while responding to a burglary in progress call. When they arrived at the home on E. Sedgley Avenue they found the door open and bolt cutters on the ground. The officers immediately noticed the smell of marijuana, and when they went inside they found 8 pounds of bulk marijuana, 16 marijuana plants, headlamps, generators, electrical cords and light bulbs.
Marcus Rolon was arraigned this morning, bail was set at 2 (m) million dollars and a Nebbia hearing is scheduled for January 28, 2013 in courtroom 603. Carlos Rodriguez was also arraigned this morning, bail was set at 1.5 (m) million dollars and a Nebbia hearing was also scheduled for January 28, 2013 in 603. A Nebbia hearing ensures that money used for bail is coming from legitimate sources.
