September 23, 2013: The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office has charged 40-year-old Erwin Boyd of Jersey City, NJ and 41-year-old Tikeena Isreal of N. 18th Street in Philadelphia with Aggravated Assault, Conspiracy, Fleeing from Law Enforcement, Possession of Stolen Property and DUI after a dangerous police chase from Camden, NJ into Philadelphia.
On Sunday morning at approximately 10:45AM, Camden County Police Officers tried to pull over a 2011 Volkswagen CC near the Ben Franklin Bridge that was suspected of being in stolen status. The defendants fled, narrowly missing a Camden officer by inches, and took off over the Ben Franklin. When they crossed the bridge, they raced up 676 West at speeds over 90 MPH. The car then got off 676 at the Parkway, and immediately got back on 676, endangering any Philadelphian who might have been walking up 22nd Street. They then came to a complete stop on the right shoulder of 676 and Erwin Boyd switched seats with Tikeena Isreal. With Isreal now in place as the driver, the pair then merged onto 76 West at a high rate of speed. At this point Pennsylvania State Police joined Camden Police in the pursuit of the vehicle. After passing the ramp for City Line, they made a U-turn into oncoming traffic. They then sped head-on towards civilian traffic. The fleeing vehicle then went down the on-ramp, again against oncoming traffic. At this point, State Police attempted to intercept the vehicle by going up the on-ramp. The defendant pointed the vehicle at the trooper, causing the officer to take evasive action. The defendants then hit the guardrails on both sides of the ramp. Israel was arrested on scene and Boyd was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. Both are expected to be arraigned sometime later today.
The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office has charged 35-year-old Daniel Falu of the 5200 block of Large Street with Possession with Intent to Distribute, Conspiracy, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of an Instrument of a Crime for operating a grow house in his home. Dozens of marijuana plants and 600 grams of cocaine were found in Falu’s Large Street home on Saturday, September 21st. Falu has been arraigned, bail set at 1 (m) million dollars, and his next court date is scheduled for October 7, 2013 in courtroom 603.
