Philadelphia – Detectives from the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office Insurance Fraud Unit investigated Justin Robinson for filing a fraudulent theft claim with Progressive Insurance Company. On October 2, 2013, Robinson called the Philadelphia police and reported that his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle had been stolen from outside of his house on Boyer Street in Philadelphia on September 30, 2013. Robinson then called Progressive Insurance Company and filed a theft claim for the alleged stolen bike. During their own investigation of the claim, Progressive investigators learned that Robinson had posted the alleged stolen motorcycle online for sale. Progressive investigators confronted Robinson about this advertisement during an examination under oath and Robinson confessed that he had sold the motorcycle and that the bike was never stolen. Progressive referred this file to the District Attorney’s Office Insurance Fraud Unit detectives who later arrested Justin Robinson on February 17, 2016 for Insurance Fraud, Attempted Theft by Deception and False Reports. He is next listed for a status hearing in Philadelphia Municipal Court on March 29, 2016.
